You can apply to carry out a traineeship in the Republic of Cyprus if you have a higher education degree for no longer than 2 years or if you are pursuing a higher education degree in a non-EU country. You must have a training agreement with a host entity/company in the Republic of Cyprus.
If you fulfil the conditions, you will be issued a residence permit.
Where and how to apply
Duration of validity of permits
Residence permits are granted for 6 months and are renewable, only once, for the period equal of the training agreement, provided that an application for renewal is submitted.
When you arrive in Cyprus, you must register at the District Aliens and Immigration Unit of the Police and undergo a medical check. You must also submit relevant medical certificates.
You can appeal decisions related to your residence permit before the Administrative Court.
Change of status
The trainee can submit the relevant application for the new status, if he/she meets the necessary criteria.
It is not possible for the trainee to be accompanied by his/her family members.
The stay as a trainee is not counted in the period of residence to be eligible for long-term/permanent residence in Cyprus.
