You can apply to carry out a traineeship in Finland if you have a higher education degree for no longer than 2 years or if you are pursuing a higher education degree in a non-EU country. You must have a training agreement with a host entity/company in Finland.
If you fulfil the conditions, you will be issued a residence permit.
Change of status
If the grounds for your residence change and you meet the necessary conditions, you should apply for a new residence permit (for example employment or family ties).
The stay as a trainee is temporary and it is not counted in the period of residence to be eligible for long-term/permanent residence in Finland.
